A few weeks ago it was time for a trip to the beach and out into nature. There was an exotic display of sand sculpturing where the theme was 'Disney', but also a little boat trip in small waterways through the countryside.

    Heading out....

It wasn't all landscapes, there were dwellings as well.

    Again the typical flat landscape

There were little natural "tunnels" too.

My s-i-l- and her daughter bracing themselves for a possible collision. hahaha

I hope that you folks enjoyed seeing some of our countryside here. It is very restful, I find...sort of idyllic, like an old oil painting, sort of.

Lovely landscape! Those homes look so inviting. :D I like seeing flat and green since our area is more hilly. But where did the photos of the sand sculptures go? Come on, give!

    The sand sculptures........there are "hundreds".
I'm not really sure how to select them and not have too many--but when I get home from work tonight, I will make a beginning.

You sure do have a beautiful country. All i got see when i was there was the airport,,lol. I love the houses, such character they have. And water, boat rides, i'm with you there. Its how we get around too. Only we have to hit the sea now and then,,,lol. Sometimes i really miss flat land. It sure makes it easier to get around! Great photos Sjoerd!

Thank you folks so much for the kind words about the landscape and pics.
I will have to wait until tomorrrow to finish sorting some sand sculpture fotos.

STRATSMOM-- I am in Holland. West-Frisia is an area in the province of North Holland. We have lots of water here... and some of the land has been re-claimed from the sea. There are some areas where farms, pastures and homes are existing on what was once the bottom of the sea.

Thanks for the beautiful trip. Your country is indeed relaxing. Like quaint little villages. I am glad Deanna ask where you were. I had often wondered and was too lazy to get the map or globe out. Waiting for the sand castles!

Ahhhh such peace and tranquility - who could ask for more? Your photographs are so relaxing to look at and so beautiful. Everything looks so fresh and clean somehow. How I wish I could have taken the boat trip with you. I'll look forward to seeing the sand sculptures. :-D
