Deanna I don't know if they would live
through the really cold or not.I never had any problems with them. They are easy to grow here.I could try to start one here for you.I don't know if it will root.

I love this time of year when all of the Crape Myrtles are blooming. I just added a white one to my wish list. I think it would look good with the pink and lavender ones.

We have those everywhere around here. I love when they all bloom. I have one in my front yard that isn't blooming yet for some reason, everyone else's is in full bloom right now so it's getting me down.

One of mine starts blooming in June but the other one doesn't get going until late July, sometimes into August and that's because it is shaded too much now. More of the large hackberry tree out front needs to come down this fall.

Not getting enough sun can slow down blooming, also pruning at the wrong time will prevent it from blooming at all that year.
If it is planted in the garden area where you are fertilizing it may have gotten too much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus. Over watering can also slow down the bloom cycle.
I love the fact that it is one of those plant me and after the second year forget about me trees.
