Here are a few mammals that I will add to the North America nature site when I have a couple of other topics ready to put in. To see the page visit
The Mammals It is not linked from the index page yet although 'HOME' will take you to the index page. Those on the index page are working if you want a browse..

So many intriguing mammals to look at!! We don't have any of them in this country - except in zoos of course.

    Very imposing animals.
We also have Bison bonasus in some 3 reservations in Romania.
Rupicapra rupicapra is also a symbol around here. "Capra neagra" is the Romanian name. (Black goat)
OF course we also have wolves and bears...
I just never see them when I go hiking...

    I like furries. :D

The caribou looks a bit like our reindeer but I suspect the caribou's a very big animal.

The waipiti looks a lot like our big deer, but I know the waipiti's a lot larger. :D

We've got musk oxen three hours' drive from here, but I've never managed to spot one.

We've got red deer and brown beer. I've seen lots of deer but no bear yet.

We don't have porcupines, but we've got hedgehogs.

I think it's amazing that nature's got so many different types of mammals, and some are so alike too.
