I'm so glad that you have sparrows visiting you Sherry as we have a dearth of them around here. I never thought I'd miss their cheeping in the garden but I do.
Love the shots of your woodpecker and the starling. You have an ideal place for watching your birds and catching them with your camera. :-D

Your birds look nice there, Sherry.
It's nice to see those sparrows--I don't see many here these days.

I love the sparrows Sherry. What a great picture. I like starlings too. I love to hear their cackling when a flock descends on my yard. It has a happy sound.

I belong to a birding site and some people trap and kill sparrows because they like to take nesting places of blue birds and kill the blue birds or ruin their eggs. That would be just like me killing the hawk, which I would never consider doing because he eats the small birds. Some people think they are saving the blue birds but they are also killing the sparrows off. The sparrow and the blue bird both use the same size hole to get into the nesting boxes so I think the sparrow is just trying to survive but you cannot tell the sparrow haters that, they don't listen. :(

Very nice photos Sherry. I love your pergola feeding area. I like your sparrow photo, they tend to get neglected by photographers (including me) because they are brown but that one is really cute.

Nice shots as always Sherry. I'm still wondering what happened to all the birds around here...barely any at the feeders for quite some time now. I wonder if that Hawk has anything to do with it?
Why would anyone want to kill ANY bird? Some people are idiots!

I feel bad if one hits the truck when I am driving ....I just couldn't hurt something like some on purpose. I feel bad when I see something on the side of the road dead.

Nice looking birds :) Every time I look out my window I see a brown bird with an orange bottom and white rings around the eyes, not sure what kind of bird it is.

Yesterday while we were outside cleaning up beds and other various projects, we were treated to a concert by a Carolina Wren and several Cardinals just singing their hearts out! Robins were very interested in us, probably hoping we'd stir up a worm or two for them! I think they are just as pleased with the spring weather as we are! Bird song is such womderful music!
(They declined to be photographed :D )
