We recently spent a week in Morecambe in Lancashire and had the most beautiful weather. We were very lucky as most of the country was experiencing quite a lot of rain that week. Here are a few photos

We went into the lake district and this is the picturesque village of Ambleside which is near Lake Windermere.

This is Waterhead, the very tip of Windermere a lovely spot.

This is one of the roads in the pretty village of Heysham, quite close to Morecambe.

Ha ha, don't laugh, this is me with Eric Morecambe's statue which is on the promenade at Morecambe, of course you have to strike the famous pose! That's Busby with me carrying his bottle.

There were stone statues of birds everywhere. This is on the end of the Stone Jetty at Morecambe.

Lovely town and scenery. Love the street in Heysham.

After seeing you posing with doing the Morecambe pose then scrolling down to the photo of the birds I thought maybe you would be copying them too. ;)

Looks like you all had a great holiday week.

Gosh those photographs take me back in time. It's years since I visited Morecambe and the surrounding areas but nothing much seems to have changed thankfully. So glad the weather held fine for you so that you could enjoy your holiday to the full Pat. :stew1:

I'd love to go for a walk in Heysham or Ambleside. They look like lovely villages. The statues of the cormorants are very nice too. It seems like a very nice place to have a holiday.

Now I'm off to look up Eric Morecambe.

Hills/Mountains. Sailboats at dock. Quaint village streets. Gorgeous sunset. Silly statue poses. Birds (at first glance I thought they were real!). Who could ask for more on a holiday?!

Lovely pics, Garden Girl. it is so nice to hear from you again. it's been a while. :(

Anyway that looks like a very nice vacation and the village shots were so nice to see as were the ones with water and boats.
That was a striking pose of you and Busby. Have you ever worked in show business? :)

Thanks for putting up the link Philip, one of my favourite sketches, no matter how many times I watch it, it always makes me laugh.
