We went through town today when we were out and about and took a few pics. It doesn't look like a tornado, maybe a micro burst or something else. There is no path like a tornado takes. It's like hit or miss all over town. We didn't get any of the big sign damage and people were all over working of cleanup so we couldn't get close or pics that we really wanted.
Here is where it started out by I-45 and Hwy 75. This is an old unused gas station. In the first pic, the roof has fallen in and the front door is off track. In the second pic from the other side the whole wall has fallen in on itself.

This house is a new house and you can see at the top where some of the metal roof is missing. The whole back of the house has lost the roof. There are big metal roofing pieces all over the back yard and field.

This is the Lakeside Restaurant. It had a second story that is pretty much history. The parking lot is full of debris so you couldn't get any closer.

This little building is at the front of the parking lot. It has the whole back and one side missing. I couldn't stop until we were past it and then a big truck was coming behind me and I had to go because I was still part on the road.

This building belongs to a church and they use it for rummage sales. I think part of it is used for car repairs too. It's across town from Lakeside Restaurant.

Wish I could have gotten more pics but the damage is wide spread with spaces between with no damage. I imagine the emergency people were fairly busy yesterday evening.

The national weather service says it was a microburst that caused all the damage. People often mistake it for tornados because of the sound of the wind. The wind was upwards of 80 mph. We got 1.37 inches of rain. There was considerable more damage but we didn't go looking for it because we had a long day and just wanted to get home. dooley

 Gosh that's some damage!! I hope no-one was killed or hurt when roofs and walls collapsed. It's going to take a while before all the repairs can be done so I hope there are no more storms like that in the near future. I'm so glad it missed you and Glenda entirely Dooley.

The Dallas station had lots of pictures of the damage. Glad you and Glenda are OK. That wind and noise is a scary thing.

Gosh. I am in agreement -- glad you guys and Glenda were spared any damage. When I lived in Illinois we had tornadoes and big storms of the like... that is one thing I don't miss one bit. They used to scare me.

Oho, that was some storm! I hope this won't be a regular feature during your summers. I find the force of nature very frightening when it strikes like that.
