Cool Palustris! I did not know there was a pink flowered witch hazel. Is it as fragrant as the yellow ones? All the flowers were great, by the way. Thanks for sharing.

You're garden is well in advance of mine Eric. There's no sign of my snowdrops yet and the hellebores haven't come into bud. I do however have daffs and crocus popping up everywhere although they're not ready to bloom yet. I do have some purple cyclamen adding a bit of colour now though.

Palustris, Thank you so much. I noticed my Helebore are still green. They must like the cold weather but I have no flowers....LOL

The purple flowered Hammamelis (probably has a name but cannot find it) was eaten down to a stump just after we bought it (only time we have ever had a rabbit in the garden and it chose an expensive plant to nibble), so this is the first time of flowering. I cannot discern any aroma from any of our Hammamaelis. They are supposed to be scented.

Oh, That's a bummer. I was at the park one day a few years ago, must have been Feb-ish and there was the most fragrant smell wafting through the air. I took me a little time to find it seeing how they are sooo unassuming for beauty. I think they are actually about the least attractive shrubs I have seen. There may be others, but this is the one that comes to mind first, though, but they sure make up for it in fragrance.

I think it is my nose which is at fault rather than the shrubs. Other people say that they are scented, but I just do not get it.

Tis good to see all those blooming plants over there. I have a couple of the same, but they are just now beginning to come above ground.

    Nice show.

One thing is for sure, I would not have taken any pictures today, we have very strong winds, heavy rain, snow (not sticking) and Hailstones.
I think it is wonderful how many of the flowers will survive the weather though without seeming to suffer too much.

The purple Hamamaelis is called H. Amethyst by the way.
