In late March we went to WalMart garden center to look at plants. They had a large table full of tomatoes marked 50 cents each. No labels, you got what you got. We bought four. The first three were round red ones, maybe celebrity? Yesterday I picked this one. It more than fills dr's hand. It weighed in at exactly one pound.

dooley's small garden seems to be providing the vegetables we need for each days dinner. Chance appreciates the cucumbers. I did discover that the small fat yellow one is supposed to be short and leaving it to become long is a lesson in futility.

We picked the first fig off our misson fig tree. It's not a bad size for a tree that's not two feet tall yet. Brian loves figs, mostly the dried ones.
There is another small fig but it probably won't get too much bigger.

Thats a nice tomato for a 50 cent plant! Mine are just now turning red and have seen a few that are close to that size. Makes me hungry.

Bonus size for a tomato, bet it tasted great. Chance eats cucumbers? I suppose a dog needs her vegetables. The dinner veggies are looking good!!

Yum Yum! We just planted fig trees... so it'll be a few years before we get any. I think it's time for me to go see if my aunt needs any figs picked off her trees!

Your harvests just keep getting better and better.
That is a good-looking tomato you ater showing in that first pic. One pound!--those types will be good for making juice or concentrate for canning.

    Yeah Dooley--looking good.
