Went into Lowe's just to buy some mulch... and found racks and racks of mark-downs. Picked up some Begonias, a couple of Red Double Dip Hibiscus, some Dahlias and Verbena. Also got a very nice Pink Jasmine. And a couple of plants that I don't recall seeing before... luckily they had tags... Viola Labradorica and Twisted Arrows Rush.
Can't wait for them to get settled in and looking good so I can post photos!
Hmmm... think I'll stop by there again on the way home from work... I do need some potting soil...
    :-D

Sounds like you made out like a bandit at the sale.
I need to check out the sale rack at Lowe's again, they have some good plants and really good prices.

I have a HD coupon for Buy one/get one free on their bags of bulbs that I hope to use tonight. I want a couple of the black Elephant Ears for a shady part of the front yard

I found a couple of the Viola Labradorica on the sale table two years ago. One died during the winter but the other one is doing great.
Viola labradorica (Alpine Violet, Sweet Violet)

Oh it's just not fair!! :( You're teasing me telling me all about the mark-down plants you bought Cheryl. Now I've just GOT to go to our local stores and garden centres to see if they have any sales on. Naughty girl!! ;)

Seems Lowe's is the only store around here that offers mark downs... and they are on my way home (if I go just a little bit out of my way!).
So... they're rapidly becoming my fav plant store.

Gosh, I never go to Lowe's but I will have to start! Your story has sold me on that. Gosh. How great for you to find all those goodies.

I love mark downs, Hyacincth for $1 as well as tulips for me. I wish I had the room and my own home to do what I want to but then again I wouldn't have enough money to get everything anyway.

Well... I did stop in again (go figure!) to get some potting soil. Found another great deal on a Bouganvillea. I've got to stop going in there all the time! Might have to get a second job at this rate! :-D

Congratulations on your new treasures! :stew2: We went for a round on Friday but nothing exciting has come in yet. I couldn't have shopped if they had, since we're still struggling with frost and snow here.
