We had a good day finding things today. First at a large yard sale and then Glenda took us to see a friend of hers. We stopped at the thrift shop, too.
We bought a great Hoosier Cupboard. It has the pull out shelf for making bread and cookies, etc. It still has the tin bin with the flour sifter intact. It was in a huge storage shed and covered in dirt but it cleaned up well.

We bought this china cabinet for less than a third of what she was asking because the veneer is peeling and it needs a lot of refurbishing. Fortunately our friend who was here this week refurbishes furniture.

Then, of course we had to buy this red rocker for the porch. It needs a new seat but dr can do it for next to nothing and I will add a cushion.

That's all the pictures I have so far. We bought some metal racks and a lot of small stuff and a maple quilt rack for the quilt we bought last week.

We hijacked Glenda's day and took her with us.
She took us to see a friend of hers who sells stuff at yard sales and out of her storage sheds. We bought some small? shelves. A whatknot shelf that is 48 inches by 37 inches that dr has to hang on the wall for me. Some more small shelves and a table and four chairs for the porch. I will clean them tomorrow as they have been sitting out under a tree. We also reserved a dining table with chairs for when the lady gets them dug out of her storage shed. We felt bad making her empty one to get the whatknot shelves. We did help her put all the stuff we didn't buy back. dr bought a covered wagon from her. I saw much that I would have bought but we spent our limit and more today. I told her to collect up the flower pots she wants to sell and when we come for the table and chairs we will buy them too.
Now, I have to go make supper....if I can make my legs move. dooley

Way to go Dooley! Yopu guys really scored, didn't you. TRhose two big furniture pieces have enormous possibility...and as for the rocker--well what porch would be complete without one. ;)

You really made out like a bandit. Love the hoosier cabinet. I have always wanted one, but never found one that had all its parts ie. the flower sifter. And the china cabinet will be an absoulute beauty when you refinish it. You had a very prosperus day.

Wow, you made a good haul. I have wanted a hoosier cabinet for years but could never find one with all it's parts that was in my price range.
I would love to find a storage shed like that to shop thru.

We've had one before but sold it when we had a store. We were not looking for one and didn't think we would buy this one until she named a price. We did tell her we didn't want the china cabinet. It needs work but she kept lowering the price. She said the roof blew off of the shed during Ike and things got wet. She didn't think of the china cabinet being laminated.
It does smell moldy. I wonder how to get that smell out. Soap and Hot water? dooley
