While grocery shopping today at Giant Eagle I noticed a large sign above the meat department. It read, All meats are Naturally grown, no antibiotics and no hormones. The sign may have been there before but never noticed. Now if I could only get rid of these extra pounds.

Great to see a sign like that these days,..our Stores are getting pretty good of late,..after our Meat Testing Labs discovered Minced Meat had a high percentage of Horse Meat included,..despite the label reading 100% Beef,..it was imported beef,..that started a big investigation world wide,..horses to me are intelligent animals and its well known that horse are consumed in France and some other countries,..now i don't eat minced meat no matter what it reads on the label.

Our latest scandal discovered of late was meat marked Produced In Ireland,..and Product Of Ireland,..the latter is genuine Irish,..not the first one,..at a glance you could be fooled.

That's great! I haven't seen that sign in the grocery stores, but then I haven't been looking. But I will be looking now!

I am not too sure that I would believe the sign considering how things are nowadays.

There was a news item last year I think about meat labeled 'lamb' and 'mutton' that came from China, and it was no such thing--it was RAT meat. A friend on another forum got fish from Vietnam, and it came from a well known polluted river, so she returned it. I would not care to eat anything from Asia. China has no sanitary regulations, and they eat anything.

By coincidence just today the British Government stated that they have the best food testing labs and examination of meat,..they are considering setting up a team to investigate and monitor the imports of meat,..i almost shout at the TV when they announced this as it was the Labs in Ireland who discovered the horse meat scam,..never believe a politician lol.

But what the government studiously ignored in that same report Philip was that the entire food industry is wide open to fraud and organised crime on a massive scale.Where there is a chance to make money then someone will give it a go.... :scheming:

    Hi jbest123,.. Kiasmum,..AAnightowl,..Eileen,.. and Netty,

Its so true we can not believe what it reads on the Label,..you have to check the reverse as well,..even then its all a scam or fraud.

This is something that i have a bee in my bonnet over,..its the lies and deceit and a nod and a wink,..nearly all USA meat and dairy products are banned in about 40 countries,..but those same countries Ireland and the UK included,.. import products with grain,..soya and corn which is GM,..granted there is a wave of protest and some stores are doing something about it,..not fast enough,..check the link below from Ireland.
