A grass of some sort?

    This is a volunteer in one of my pots-I think it started last year but this year it has produced these heads. It is about 15-18 inches tall and has thin,grass-like leaves although they are quite rough to handle.

    Sorry Karin, I have no idea. If it is "just a weed", will you keep it? ie, is it attractive?

    It was quite attractive right to the point when I brushed against one of the 'ears' and hundreds of tiny seeds flew off :eek: I don't think it would take long for it to become invasive so I cut off and destroyed every other seed bearing ear. When it has died down it will go to the big council compost heap in the sky :D

    Shame really because it started off so well...

    Ah..oh well. I guess it's a grass trying to do what grasses do, create a meadow.
