A great looking mushroom.

    This was a great find today, we weren't very hopeful as it has been a dry summer. Sparassis crispa, cauliflower fungus.

    It does, and it was over 12 inches across

    My first thought when I saw the photograph was - coral.
    There are some really lovely fungi around and this is one.

    It is definately a neet mushroom and the only one I have seen.

    This is the first time I saw that kind of mushroom. Is that eatable?

    Not sure if you can eat it but the guy I go with and myself don't eat anything that we find. The attach is eatable though, its called Lobster mushroom. The strange thing about it though is the orange stuff is a fungus that covers other mushrooms, mainly white ones. To if you don't know what the other is it could be trouble.
