Here are some shots frm the horse barn. Mimi on her Gwen, and on her first born, Payton, a couple interestingly colored horses, the dog wants in, and more.

Nice photos Tom. It looks like a lovely winter day. Does the horse in the 3rd photo have a blue eye?

There is something about the 2 horses in the first 3 pictures. The part of the faces that are white, are also albino. The eyes are without color and inside the mouths there is no color. The brown horse, on his right side, has the white line come right through his eye, and half the eye is colored (Brown), and the other is as an albino eye. It must be some sort of genetic thing.

Tom, that dog wanting in looks an awful lot like an owl from here. :)

Very interesting genes. I have never seen a horse with blue eye(s)...but very interesting. Love your little doggie! And the snow looks very pretty! I would like just a little bit of it. Might still get lucky!

I've never seen anything quite like those white faced horses before Tom. Do you know if they have trouble seeing in strong sunlight at all? I'm very curious about their eyes and facial colours and would love to make a study of them if they lived nearby to me. I presume it can only be a genetic malformation as Kuntrygal suggests. Very curious and infinitely intriquing.

Gwen and Payton are looking good and it's really great to see Mimi in the saddle again. :-D

However, you can keep your snow as we have quite enough of it here at the moment!! :p

Wikipedia states that some, but not all, Bald Face horses have blue eyes. Its a lovely marking, I think. Gosh, it seems like forever since Ive been on a horse (though I actually went riding with the bf at a state park just back in August)

What lovely horses. I've never seen white-faced ones live. Very interesting. So good to see Mimi back in the saddle. :D
