Woke up the morning to blue sky and perfect walking temperatures. Thought I would go walk around the lake, and kind of did...the bottom park section. Maybe this evening after my chores are accomplished in the garden I will walk the entire lower section of the lake. Instead most of my time was spent walking the boardwalk. There is something about the Sound that always draws me on perfect days like this. over view of the Puget Sound ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Olympia sits at the bottom of the Puget Sound region. My life activities tend to center here and up toward the Hood Canal on the other arm of the Sound. Because of horrendous traffic we seldom venture north toward Seattle. Besides we have everything here that our simple wants require. My three walking companions don't like taking a photo break. Walking buddies: Ciara, Amber and Max ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) The sailboats are always a site against the sky and water. freighter is in at the port. logs going out ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Then there is an ever rotating amount of art and a few old friendly pieces that stay their places. permanent piece of artwork ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) some of the multitude of artwork on the boardwalk ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) rotating art on the boardwalk ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) rotating artwork ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) tides out ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Looking through the sailboats to the state capital ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) My favorite piece of art work is an old metal buoy. I even have a screensaver painting of it. Although this is not a good photo. There is something about this piece of utilitarian but outlived piece that always makes me smile. Maybe part of it is the backdrop, maybe it is something about the color of old rusted metal and its many hues. old metal buoy (I have taken a sinful number of photos of it) ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) Well, even live aboards garden and this must me my reminder that I have a lot of work to do at home and it must be time to return. Thanks for coming along on my little morning walk. By the way the Farmer's Market is open this morning. A tribute to spring for sure. container gardening on board ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden )
Jewell, I really enjoyed taking a morning walk with you and your four-legged companions. The artwork is amazing--especially the geometric one with a seagull (photo #5).
Nice place for a walk. I'd be out there everyday. I, too, love the old buoy. And all those sailboats... but gotta love the one with their own garden.
The expression on Ciara's face is priceless. She obviously doesn't want you to waste time having her picture taken. Who could blame her when there's so much to see and do. :-D
I really enjoyed this, Jewell. I like walking, and your area is gorgeous. Thanks very much for taking us along.
That was refreshing. Thank you for allowing me to walk with you. I haven't been able to have a good walk for months.
Thank you for the walk! I was too busy doing yard work to take a walk today. I enjoyed walking by the water. dooley
Thanks All, I love sharing our gorgeous area (but I am biased). Sunshine like today is so rare that have to get out and take advantage of the moment. It was so lovely I almost forgot to take photos. It was on my return that I just wanted to take the moment home to share
