There are many shrubs that one can see when out walking. Some at the side of the road and others in the woods. I have put a few together that I have photographed and hope you enjoy browsing this little Look at Shrubs.
Although we don't get all the species of shrub that you've shown us in your photographs here in Scotland Kildale I do recognise quite a few from my own walks. So many people walk past these beauties without actually seeing them. I'm so glad that you are not one of them.
I love flowering shrubs Kildale. What a lovely selection of photos. We have a few, rhodedendrons of course, berberis (ours has an orange flower, not sure of the name). We also have a very large elderberry but it has dark purple berries. The starlings love them and then leave very unpleasant droppings all over my car and garage doors One in particular I have not been able to identify and I think you have solved the mystery. It is the Spiraea douglasii. I do like its soft feathery pink flowers. Thanks
Really nice to see the replies from Scotland and England, especially when its a little later there than here.
Lovely photos! I had to snicker a bit since several of those shrubs are coveted garden plants here in Norway, like the Kalmia, Phyllodoce and Cassiope. Several others are common garden plants here. Very nice presentation, Kildale.
