A new bird in the harbour.

    A few brown pelicans have landed in the harbour and I went to get some pics. Just back from Calgary yesterday. Pretty cold there -25c.

    I'm glad to hear you've arrived home safe and sound. :-D

    I know there's never going to be a chance that I'll see a pelican in my garden so this time I'm not at all jealous. I can admire you photograph and hope that some day I'll see one of these curious looking birds somewhere rather than in a zoo though.

    I saw a blue heron standing by the neighbors cattle tank the other day. Of course, that's the day the camera was on the table at home. I took it out while I was looking for something in the bottom of my purse and never put it back.
    No pelicans here though.

    There are white pelicans just outside of Calgagy, but I think they are summer visitors. Calgary is 658 miles from here, just short of the length of Britain which is just over 700, so its not an easy photo op.

    A marvelous bird is the pelican
    His beak can hold more than his bellican
    He can hold in his beak
    Enough food for a week
    Though I really don't know how the hellican

    We usually the get white (or pale grey). The brown is pretty too!
