A new moth for me.

    Managed to get a few shots of this moth. Had to have it ID'd but have a name for it now. Pero mizon

    This moth would be hard to spot in autumn as it resembles a dead leaf. Thank goodness you managed to get a shot of it at this time of year.

    I heard that once in the not too distant past, light colored moths and darker ones numbered in equal proportions. But after the industrial revolution, darker ones now outnumber the lighter ones by 5 to 1. This I was told is because soot from all the coal fires covered everything, making the environment all dark - In which lighter colored ones stood out, and so fell victim to their natural predators.

    Therefore Kildale finding one is indeed a very good sign! :)
