for a corner of my front yard. I can't plant any small plants there - I planted a little daisy plant there which was doing very well but it got mowed down yet again - this is the third time. I moved it to a bed further after this. I need something a little larger(about 25"-30" tall) which my hubby can see - apparently the daisy was too small for him to spot I don't want to plant something huge there as it is very much in front. I also need it to be hardy as I don't want to spend too much time on it and don't want to replace it every year either. A flowering plant will be wonderful. However hardiness will win over flowers if it comes to it.The area gets about 4-6 hours of sunlight. Please help.
Tina: maybe you could decorate it by putting something in front. I made a new flower garden and put rocks for an edging in front. You could put up some kind of small fencing. Anything decorative may be pretty.
For a plant that needs very little care stick with plants that are native to your area. Petunia's idea for protecting whatever you plant is probably the only way to keep from having to replant over and over again. Some fencing that stands out against the green of the plant, a birdbath, bench or gazing ball on a pedestal...anything that hubby can't miss seeing but will miss with the lawnmower.
