The temperature dropped at least 30 degrees. Winds are blowing pretty good. Nice beautiful dark clouds headed straight here from the North/Northeast.
Please let it be a slow moving system that will give the entire area a good soaking. :fingerscrossed:

We must be getting the same front. Lots of winds, cooler temps, dark clouds, thunder but no rain yet. It's waiting for my son and family to arrive tomorrow night.

Just a light sprinkle here. But according to the radar on wunderground.com it's still heading this way. If it goes any more to the west, I might just get the edge of it. But that's okay... as long as it rains anywhere in the vicinity... or State for that matter... there won't be any complaints from me.

Good luck with the rain. We have a hurricane heading this way with the possibility of 5 inches of rain.

The line of rain has spread itself out east to west so hopefully you got some of it.
The storm system started around the northeast corner of Texas and headed south a few hours ago. We got a couple of gusts of cooler air that dropped the temperature from 106 to 96 but that was just what they call an outflow boundry. I think there was a little rain in part of Dallas County but none on my yard. :(

We're getting a very light rain. The brunt of it drifted enough west to miss me. I must have jinxed it by stopping my usual watering routine. ;)
The temps outside are so nice right now... have to be in the lower 80s!
Jerry... I have been keeping an eye on Irene... hope she just stays out away from land so the winds don't cause alot of destruction.

I'm afraid New England has a bullseye painted on its forehead. "Batten down the hatches, we're in for a bad one".

Sure wish I could send some of our rain to Texas. Wed. morning we got 1 inch and a 10th in 20 minutes. Wed. night, a cold front came through and we got another 3/4's of an inch. We are way above normal for Aug.

We had rain off and on all morning but you would never know it tonight. It quit about noon and the sun came out and it got steamy and hot. Not as hot as they said it would be though. No rain in forecast until Wednesday. They are saving it all for the East Coast.

I came home to find another quarter-inch of rain in the gauge. Good thing too, because I had a work-event this evening and I didn't get home until after dark.
Hopefully it was enough to keep them from shriveling up tomorrow.
And, according to the weather-guy, today was the first day of August that we didn't reach 100F. Hope everyone enjoyed it, because this weekend they are predicting 106F... not "feel like temps"... but actual temps.
Guess who'll be inside cleaning... or maybe out doing some shopping?

My oh My Cheryl, I just can't imagine. We have had soooo much rain that everything here looks like spring. I can't remember an August that the grass was green. Like the Captain said we got rain twice this past week and I was wishing we could send it your way. This is the most comfortable August I can ever remember, also. Usually it HOT and MUGGY and MISERABLE! This year the temps are in the high 70's low 80's, very welcome after the July heat wave, but I can't imagine the 106 :( Your poor farmers and livestock and flowers and you poor people. Keep you in our prayers for some much needed rain.
