I was just sitting back and taking in all the different colored flowers I have. These are the one's that really "jump out" at you.

The Bouganvillea is the absolute first thing I see when I come home. I wish the photo could really capture it's brilliant radiant color. I can't wait to get this one planted in the ground so it can really grow.

And then you can't help but notice the glowing oranges of the Pride of Barbados. I harvested a few seeds already and can't wait to have a few more of these growing.

The subtlety of the Blue Plumbago, surrounded by all that brightness, is very eye-catching.

I love the little red flowers nestled in the bright green foliage of the Ice Plant.

And finally... one of the flowers of the many Rooster Comb plants that I have. This is by far the largest I've ever had. (It's almost as big as my hand). It's in a relatively small planter, which makes it bloom sooner and bigger. I have some in the ground and in a large container and they are just now blooming.

    Simply gorgeous blooms Cheryl.

Are you having the same hot and dry weather I am having? You have lots of green and colors, where my plants appear to have gone dormant in this heat no matter how much water I put on them. The ones that haven't gone dormant have just given up living.

Yes Toni... hot and dry. Some of the plants are showing stress... but others are doing quite well... with lots of watering of course.

    Thanks Eileen

The Blue Plumago quickly became one of my favorites. I just love the color. I hope to have many of more of these around.

Beautiful blooms, lots of pretty colors. I like the pride of barbados, I am not familiar with that plant.

the Pride of Barbados is a very hardy plant. It's in the same family as Mimosas. The flowers start off a bright orange and then turn into a deep orange. And if you're lucky, they'll make seed pods (looks just like a Mimosas).
It doesn't require much care either. I've been wintering it "indoors" and it comes back pretty well. Next year, I'll be planting it inground. Hope it can survive the winter on it's own.
A friend who lived on the Cayman Islands say they grow there like trees all along the roads. I'd love to see that!

That is a plant that doesn't want to grow here- it fasinates me!

Those are wonderful blooms Cheryl. I have the same Bouganvillea, but the others are new to me. I love the Pride of Barbados :)

Nice hot colours for me to enjoy on a grey, chilly morning. :stew2: I'm slightly envious at you for being able to grow such beauties outside. They're houseplants or in-and-out-plants here, bar the Rooster comb. That's used as an annual.
