Had this White throated sparrow call on to the deck a few times today. It is rather rare out this way. I had one stay a couple of winters about 10 years back. It was rare at the time and I had a picture of it in Beautiful BC magazine.

Any idea why they have come back Kildale? Any note-worthy environmental changes in the last 10 years?

I hope this bird is just the beginning of an influx of this species to you area Kildale.
After around three years of having no house sparrows (formally very common) in my garden the first ones have shown up this year.

Hi Frank, there has always been just one or two about. It was back again today for a feed and a bathe.

Eileen, we have spare house sparrows, many spare ones.
