My sister and BIL's property is next to mine. My BIL has a small orchard which is gradually becoming nut trees and bushes.
He has English walnut trees, butternut trees, and some filbert bushes.

Last year his biggest English walnut tree had its first walnut on it.

In the Fall I was walking home from visiting them and saw the walnut had fallen from its tree. I picked it up and brought it home with me. In February I decided I would try to germinate it. I read on the internet the nut needed straitification. I put it in the refrigerator for 90 days. I planted it in a "red Solo cup" and sat it outside. Last week I saw a small sprout.

Yesterday I planted it from its cup into a bigger pot.

    This is my "baby" today.

In a distant tree a squirrel is taking note and smiling along with us. May it grow and prosper for you.
