A springtime fancy needs a name

    Last spring in the midst of the Impatiens downturn Joyce and I visited our local garden center. We decided to pick our flowers independently so that we might perhaps choose something different that year. When I went to plant the flowers one lacked an ID tag. It did very well and provided a variety of blooms. Some pictured here:

    It did so well that I brought some plants in for the winter. They are still alive. :)

    Jerry...you have got yourself some gazanias, they love heat and will flower it seems forever.

    Yup, Gazania's for sure. Did you notice that the flower heads stay closed on cloudy days?

    Droopy, I love the different shades and combinations of colors.

    Chocolate, Thank you for the ID.

    Netty, I would look for old and new flowers only to find them all closed :-( and have to wait for the sky to get bright to see the color of new blooms. I especially liked the variety of blooms. Now that I know what they are I will try an experiment with the two I brought in for the winter.
