A strange fungi, rather neat though

    I have seen these before but had to take this one again as it showed it growing on a piece of wood. The candlestick fungus, Xylaria hypoxylon.

    It looks a lot like the staghorn fungus although it's white not yellow. Another new one for me too. Thanks for sharing. :-D

    There are some very strange fungi about. I should post a few more.

    Oh yes, please do post more fungi pictures! I hadn't really looked at the toadstools, mushrooms, lichen and other oddities here on the farm until I saw your photos.
    Love what one can learn here on the Stew!
