A Tree With Ears

    Well, at looks like it has ears. It is a fungus but I don't know what kind it is. Looked at Kildale's photos but I did not find a match.

    Those look like "shelf mushrooms" to me (Laetiporus) but I'm no mushroom/fungi expert.
    They generally appear where there is a wound in the tree.

    They are a type of shelf mushroom, but I don't know which one. The ones we get here are white when they are young and then turn brown.

    Great picture,..could well be seen in something like "Lord Of The Rings",..or "The Hobbit"

    We call these bracket mushrooms here in Scotland but I much prefer them being ears. :D
