While walking along the lake shore, we can do that now because the water level is down 2 and ½ feet from a normal level, I took some pictures of the plants growing in the new dry land. They are mostly what we would call weeds, but pretty in their own way. Following are a sampling of the photos. If I beat the bears to them, I might get a couple cups of berries. My once a year treat.
That was a relaxing walk and such pretty flowers. Are they all growing where water would be if it were not lower than normal? Do you know that #5 is?
What a fun walk that was.I knew the thistle blooms and the third one from the bottom is mullin and its starting to bloom. It is a medicine for the lungs.Thats what Biita said. The other bloom are so pretty.
All were growing in the newly bare ground, except the blue berries. They were along the former edge of the water.
Now that's what I love to see - wildflowers. Some of the ones you've photographed I recognise as they grow here too. I hope you manage to make it to those berries before the bears do. :-D
Thank you for taking us along on your walk. Your wildflowers are lovely. Good luck with the blueberry picking. I hope you'll manage to get some.
