I have a great interest in lichens, as far as taking a photo at least. I know a couple of guys who know the names and so it is rather fun, walking in the wood. To see the lichens click Walk in the Woods.

I like lichen, but I've never thought of studying them that close up before! :D I'm thinking about it now, and will probably do it too, next time we're out in the woods.

Nah, I don't think so. I have a feeling that lichen look pretty much the same no matter where in the world we are.

Thanks for sharing your walk in the woods. We still have snow in some parts, but a few green sprouts are starting to poke their heads out, which is encouraging. Loved your photos...keep posting as you travel through the spring!

My eldest lad likes to take photographs of lichens, fungi and moss. His photographs always amaze me, just as yours do, as they are so detailed. Many people walk past all the smaller things that nature provides without even seing them so I'm glad that you're not one of them.
