At the end of our road, we have wooded state land that has a pathway that leads to the river. some people also like to hunt back there.

Now lets be on our way.

Just a little ways in we pass a flowing well. Though its not very appealing right now. I like coming here more in the spring when the wild flowers are just coming into bloom.

well lets continue, we have a little ways to go
    [IMG]
here we pass a down tree
    [IMG]
    we're almost at the end
    [IMG]
we've reached what my daughter calls the meadow

Its great back in here. Serene, quiet, listening to the birds and the sounds of nature. Off to the right we have the river ( middle branch)
This river is also known for its blue ribbon trout stream. alot of fishing is done here.
a few fall colors of trees

We'll walk thru the pines on our way back.

Well thats our walk for today. Its evening now. but my daughter & I want to go back again when its more daylight out. There's also another pathway on the otherside of the meadow that leads to another open field. Well Possibly this next weekend, pictures will be better and maybe more fall colors too.
Hope ya'll had a good time, Come again.

That is just beautiful Petunia, thanks for the walk.

I would never get any work done around the house or garden, I would be out walking thru those woods. Set up a small lean-to with a chair and table, take a book or knitting and a thermos of coffee and I would dissolve into the setting so no one could find me.

And if you looked carefully over your left shoulder, I'd be there underneath a very low-hanging branch, on my belly with my nose just peeking through the leaves, trying to spot some animals or birds without them spotting me.

That wood floor looks very inviting, and your meadow and river are very scenic too. Thanks for taking me along.

Petunia, I really enjoyed our walk today. I feel invigorated ...now maybe I can get some work done. That is a beautiful walk. Maybe next spring we can go on another walk, when the flowers start blooming!

Don't you just love the woods, the quiet, the birds, animals likely to pop out anywhere, the air seems fresher, and the smells of nature. I'm with you, one of life's rewards is a stroll through the woods, it can restore a weary mind.

What a lovely stroll I have just had with you and your daughter. All of those lovely scrunchy brown leaves, didn't you hear me scrunching along? :)

Great walk, Petunia! I really enjoyed that. I liked the colours and the water...but most of all I found the trail mysterious and engaging. I could almost imaging being there, sniffing the fall smells and feeling the coolnmess of the forest air.

Very nice post. Thank you. :)

Looks like a great area to walk and explore through. Your woods and fall color look the same as it does around our area. Thanks for the journey!
