The thought of not having to go to work again till Saturday is giving me shivers (the good kind)! Not gonna do anything big, just chill out, play some World of Warcraft, hang with my bf when he's not at work, play with the dogs...just enjoy the freedom The last time I was here, I was posting about my dog Macy, who had a ruptured disc. Unfortunately, on Oct 30th, I had to make the decision to have her put down. I talked to the vet at the Humane Society, and she and the other people there all agreed it was best, as there are apprently no groups around here that could take her, and they didnt have the funds or staff to care for Macy themselves. A week or so after, mom and my younger sisters got another dog from the Humane Society. She is a 6 month old German Shorthair Pointer mix they named Jude (her original name was Angel, but we already have a dog named Angel lol). She's cute (and smart!), but she'll never replace Macy for me.
Nice to see you Bip! So sorry to hear about Macy...I know from experience that is a hard decision to make and that there is nothing that can take Macy's place. Jude is cute and hopefully she can help fill that huge gap that Macy's passing left. Have a wonderful vacation and just do whatever YOU want to do!
Good to see you, Bip. Jude is lovely. So sorry about Macy, but I think you did the right thing. *hugs*
It's always hard to make that final decision Jen but I'm sure it was the right one. Jude will never take the place of Macy but she'll find a place in your heart too. Have a relaxing and stress-free vacation and simply do whatever takes your fancy. :-D
So------------sorry to hear about Macy. It is hard to put a pet down but when you love a critter so much it is the best thing to do so they don't suffer. We have had to put so many down. I still have a favorite that is gone and no one will ever replace him in my heart...those memories are there to stay. But you have plenty of room in your heart to love another animal and make some more memorys. Enjoy your time off and have some relaxing time with your BF...My husband will be off 2 weeks using some of his vacation time up. We have done some shopping and just projects around the house. It has been a nice time.
Well, so far all Ive done is stay up late last night and sleep in this morning...going to go to the movies today. And return the dog booties I got yesterday cause Angel has odd shaped paws (long instead of round) and they didnt fit right (they had a rubber soles with a tube of fabric. Gonna get ones that just have a sock shape to em). Might make some brownies later.
Sounds like a perfect way to start the vaca, Bip! Keep up the good work! I was so sorry to hear about Macy... but I think you made the right decision for her.... hard as it was to do. I hope you enjoy little Jude... they all have their special qualities.
When I worked, I remember what it was like to have a vacation. It was so nice and relaxing. But I usually worked so hard doing things at home, that I needed another vacation before going back to work!! Enjoy yours and little Jude. So sorry to hear about Macy. But when you love them so much, you don't want to see them suffer.
