Yellow Hardy Hibiscus, native of Australia, I live in zone 8b/9a depending on which map you look at. It overwintered in the ground with a thick layer of shredded oak leaves:

Oooohhhh.....maybe we can have a hardy hibiscus seed exchange. 8) Hopefully mine will bloom before long, so I'll have pics of the colors I've got.

That is breathtaking all right. I've just ordered Anasazi Maiden. Maybe we can exchange when I get some seeds. I enjoy your garden pics.

Stunning! Hybiscus are one of my favorites. I can't grow them here, unless I put them in a pot, I'm not so good with the potted ones. UGH! I'll just enjoy yours...thanks for sharing.

There should be plenty of seeds for all, my big plant survived and we got a good rain today, plus I watered it yesterday with the sprinkler. I have several smaller ones I am going to get in the ground.

gardengater, I am sory to dissappoint you, but youir hibiscus probably will not set seed, and if it did the plant would not flower true to color. I will have plenty of seeds to share though.

Netty, if you have a place to start it indoors it should have time to flower and seed. They produce flowers rather quickly and you should be able to save seed to replant every year.

I am happy that the pictures brought everyone pleasure.
