She, well maybe not, is on the way home from the Vet. 'She' was/is a hermaphrodite. Very rare I'm told. She will be written up in the Veterinary Journals. No wonder her behavior has been so odd.
Poor Penny must have been somewhat confused about her sexuallity but I'm sure the vet can rectify things for her. I only ever saw one hermaphrodite pet when I was a veterinary nurse and, believe it or not, it was a parrot. Jester simply became Jess after his operation and lived for many happy years. :-D
thank you both, 'she' is resting. The Elizabethan, or cone collar that must be worn for two weeks is really cramping 'her' style. The missus is currently spoon feeding 'her' scrambled eggs. I keep saying, "She'll eat when she's hungry." I suppose the missus likes having someone to fuss over.
Thank you kind sir. Yes, she is fully recovered. We played fetch with a tennis ball until my arm like to fell off when I got home from work. She is currently destroying something of value, whilst I visit 'imaginary' friends via the interwebs.
Delighted to read the good news,..lol at currently destroying something of value,..and your arm almost falling off,..now that is "Penny" back to normal.
I'm so pleased that everything went well. A lady that breeds Boston terriers had a hermafrodite in her last litter. I think that one ended up as a boy.
