I had a little more time now that all the Christmas things are put away and I can sit and relax some...the activity in the pergola area has been heavy, especially the week when we had -20 to -40 degree temperatures with the windchill. We did get a few days when the regular temp was -18..

The mourning doves were really fun to watch this morning after we had rain and it froze...I watched them on the neighbors roof sliding down.

Here is my suet area...I try to cater to the woodpeckers in this area but the black birds make a nuisance of themselves...

They are gorgeous, I think my favourite is the woodpecker but they are all so lovely, I had a little wren in my garden the other day but he was too quick for me by the time I had got my camera he had gone. Its the first time I had seen anything other than starlings in my garden

Great shots Sherry. I've been trying to get photos of the birds in my yard. This year I have Sparrow's, Junco's, Chickadee's, Blue Jays, Cardinal's, Morning Doves, and recently a large flock of Gold Finch has discovered the back feeder. I also have a Coopers Hawk. No photos of ANY of them yet...they are just too nervous!

You have really had a lot of traffic. With the freezing temps, they know where to go to feed. :stew2:

Sherry, it is so nice to see you again. Those birds that you have captured on film today look really nice and give a good idea of what comes by to visit you there.
They are easy to see and look warm and well-inusulated.
Any visits from the Llamas lately?

Your birds are lucky to have you there to feed them and look after them. I really like the ones we haven't got here - novelty I guess.

You certainly have a great selection of birds visiting your garden Sherry. We have numerous species too as the weather is so bad that they can't find much 'natural' food for themselves.

Sjoerd...Bob the Llama has been good ...I had seen him in an enclosed area by the barn now for winter so he can get inside...I just know he will be visiting again, just like all the dogs that visit..Hopefully I will be outside and catch him before he eats too much...

Such lovely crisp photographs. I love the house finch, such pretty colours and the dark eyed junco is jolly handsome also, with a great name to boot! :)
