    Hey guys
lookin to put some fruit into the garden this year.

I live in Montreal, all areas will get plenty of sun
I have three main areas that I want to plant.

a small hedge area which i was thinking of replacing with fruit bushes 3-4ft in height

Trellis area against a fence, a large stump is preventing a good planting. So could be in a Tub.

Individual areas possibly for taller bushes.

I'm used to UK fruits but wanted some advice on east coast options.

Any ideas would be great thanks guys

I was getting no where searching google thats helps me for my second question which was what fruit trees to plant.

But My original though was for more bushes.

    I'm thinking

    blueberries, raspberries
Not sure if blackcurrent and gooseberries will work over here.

Stump in the way huh. Is there any way to put some sort of wall around it and fill it for planting? Would be cool to have a bunch of fruit bushes growing all around it.

Maybe a grape vine of some sort? I imagine a huge grape wrapped around a big tree stump would be really cool looking. I would think current will grow there as well as Huckleberry. Bayberry maybe? Maybe a vining or bush type kiwi? Elderberry, red lake current, gooseberry.

This has me thinking now and that is a dangerous thing. :D

There are so many fruit bushes and vines to pick from Dan.

Here are just some that you could research to see if they will grow in your zone.

    Passionfruit
    Backberry
    Tayberry
Raspberry (the golden ones are delicious)
    Strawberry
    Black and red currant
    Blueberry
    Cranberry
    Loganberry
    Gooseberry
    Lingonberry
    White currant
    Grapes
    Kiwis
    Tomatoes
    Loganberry
    Goji berries
    Kumquats
    Rambutan
    Physalis
Mangoes (OK I know it's not a berry but oh they are so scrumptious)
Papaya (drooling here now just thinking of them)
There are bound to be many more but my brain isn't functioning too well at this time of night.

Don't forget Seaberry too. Seems like and extremely hardy one. Just remember to make sure that whatever you choose to get both male and female plants if needed.
