Snuck home early today, thanks to some morning rain that soaked me clear to my skin. After a while it cleared up and I went outside to plant a few shrubs and stroll thru my gardens. The recent rain has re-rejuvenated my gardens a little and the annuals are full of color again. The cooler weather agrees with my Dahlia's Blue Salvia is one annual that I will always have in my gardens This pink Potentilla has been blooming since early June A late volunteer Poppy A couple of reblooming Roses 'Home and Garden' suffering from black spot badly this year, but still blooming 'Marmalade Skies' Loving the Millet! 'Love Lies Bleeding' volunteer Not sure exactly what these are, but they popped up in the new garden and are growing wonderfully! They look like warty pumpkins A few shots of the back gardens- but not too much color in the new section yet
Two new one's for me... never heard of Millet but I like the color and erectness of the leaves and blooms. And Love Lies Bleeding... at first I thought it was Poke Salad. How interesting! Your beds are gorgeous! That's a stroll I could take over and over again.
Hi Netty, what a lovely sight to see at 0630 in the morning,..you are blessed with volunteer plants,..how big are those Pumpkins,..that Millet is impressive as is the Love Lies Bleeding,..i see Cheryl's eye caught those two as well. Very nice Pink Potentilla and Blue Salvia,..and what a strange volunteer Poppy,..but nice as well,..sorry to read you were hit with black spot,..likewise here but i have to fight the battle and keep it down to a minimum.
Not too much colour? You've got lovely colours all over your yard, you lucky so-and-so you. The millet is something else. I like the dark foliage. Your dahlia's a delight, and so's the salvia. Heck, evertything looks good!
You have beautiful gardens Netty - so lush and colourful. I've never seen millet actually growing before - usually I see it hanging in bird cages as a treat. I think your back garden is really lovely with its curved beds. :-D
