Post your weirder wackier unknown flowering objects! Nope, I have no idea what this one is. Half a dozen bulged out of the ground after a prolonged cold November followed by heavy rain
I would say I'm pretty sure it's a puffball of some kind. I also have some growing around my daylily bed. In your picture, it's the stage when it has already "puffed" and spread its spores in your... garden. These are mine!
May be a puffball of some kind. Reminded me of this Rounded Earthstar I discovered Geastrum saccatum (Rounded Earthstar)
ahah, many thanks, it seems EarthStar is the likely identity, it has an interesting herbal history. Shall dash out and stash a few spoons of the spores to try out...
Oh oh,..we will be waiting for the outcome,..biting nail time,..hope you didn't try too much,..maybe just enough to see the northern lights ,..let us know the outcome and more info.
Apparently the spores are good at necrotising cells, so might try it on tick bites to stop the bacteria from being irritating, also on cuts, to stop bleeding. I don't have any warts, tumours or cancers worth mentioning so I can't try to see if those necrotise... When I have two cuts I can see if one cut seals better than another. Nothing toxic on the Earthstar's history...
