It's all done and didn't take that long. I had the skin cancer off my arm this morning. It didn't take but half an hour but with the waiting and all we were there for three hours. I had to get up at 5 am though. I took a nap when we got home. I still feel wiped out but that's from the anethetic. I'm suppose to rest for 24 hours and keep my arm propped up. Many years ago when I had thyroid surgery they stapled the incision. Today, they glued me back together. It takes the place of a bandage. No bulky gauze for me. I wonder if they get their supplies from Office Depot. It will wear off in 10 days to 2 weeks they said and I won't need it by then. It looks awful, much worse than it really is. It's just beginning to feel itchy and I'm not allowed to scratch it. I think I will go sit on the porch and see if my eyes will stay open long enough to read my book. Chance will go with me. She's stayed close by ever since I came in the door. How do dogs know things? dooley
I am glad everything is ok .I called and talked to Brian he said you were taking a nap.I hope you don't try to do anything and rest lots.
So comforting to hear that you are on the back side of the operation. Rest and read, rest and read, etc. Our 'babies' are so intuitive. They know when something is wrong or different. Chance is a good girl.
Well thank goodness it's all over and done with. Now I can stop worrying about you. :-D Remember - no playing in the dirt until that wound is properly healed - you'll just have to take things easy for a while (if that's at all possible ) Dogs seem to have some sort of sixth sense when it comes to their humans and Chance is making sure she's there to look after and protect you.
good to hear your back home and resting-you are resting, right? ah, I thought you were. The only way to get better quicker is to follow the doctors orders. You'll be back out in your yard before you know it.
Very glad it went well for you today Dooley, and I agree with everyone else, rest, read, hang out with Chance, watch the garden. Good news.
Gosh DOoley - I am glad that you are OK and that it could be stopped. THat is one good thing about being diagnosed when it is still in the early stages. You know I have read in some journal that certain breeds of dogs are actually trained to diagnose cancer. I would not be surprised that CHance knew. SHe is a lovely baby. Kuntrygal is so right when she says that our babies are intuitive. Now you rest up and get all your strength back. :-D
