I have a huge oak tree in my back yard and it has been aged at about 250 years old. Yesterday morning it was fully leaved. We had rain almost all day yesterday and this morning it is totally naked. They are all on the ground and the grass can't be seen. Will have to take the mower and mulch that mess up!

Wow! The Oaks around here usually keep many of the leaves until spring. It's a good thing that yours dropped all at once...you can get it cleaned up and be done with it!

It seems like it's taking forever for that big maple to drop it's leaves. When you look out it looks like it's snowing gold leaves. If I have time I might rake them and put them on the compost. Maybe the next people will like compost for the garden. dooley

The same thing happened with my acers CK. It wasn't the rain though that made the leaves all fall at once it was gale force winds. I was hoping they'd stay on the trees a little longer as they were the most beautiful scarlet. Oh well maybe next year!!

I got them all mulched up. Wanted to do it while they were damp, that way there was no dust from it. Even had a few flakes of snow out there too.

All my trees are dropping theirs a little at a time, even with the wind. But the oak just went WHUMPH and disrobed like a nervous burlesque star! Oh wait, is that too rude for the forums?

So it takes 250 years to teach a tree to do a trick like that? I might as well give up, I won't have the time.
