I have been under the weather for more than a week so today we went down to the doctor. First, he asked when it started. I told him when we had a neighbor mow our grass. He said, "The first thing you do when you hear a lawn mower start anywhere in your neighborhood is go inside and shut the doors and windows." Then, start with an antihistamine and come sooner if it gets worse. He gave me an antihistamine and a nasal spray and a nasal wash and an antibiotic. The antibiotic is one of those super ones. You take two to start and one a day for 4 days. Total: 6 pills. Generic price:$5.00 each. I took the first two when I got home today. I alternate the antihistamine he gave me with a benedryll tablet, one in the morning and one at night. Use the nasal spray twice a day and the nasal rinse (a saline solution) three times a day.
I hope they all work, I could use a good nights sleep. We stopped and ate after we left the doctor and stopped at a fabric store and at the pharmacy and the post office. Texas Bear #3 is officially on it's way. She said it would take 3 to 4 working days. I guess it doesn't count the weekend then. It's taken a lot out of the day but I think it might be nap time.

Dooley, I sure hope the medicines your doctor gave you will kick in and do the trick. The nasal wash is a good thing to use on a regular basis, even after your sinus infection is cleared up. I use it twice a day. It washes out pollen, dirt, weeds, etc. before they can cause problems. And it cleanses your sinuses. Feel better soon and hope a restful night's sleep is on its way. :)

I dread hayfever, and you would think with all the time us lot spend in our gardens we would be immune by now! I get a horrid itch on the roof of my mouth and back of my tongue, sore eyes, runny nose, then blocked nose, and then huge sneezing fits. It all ends with a lovely headache. I take piriton as we have so much of it in the house for Jessica's various allergies, but it doesn't stop it, only lessens the effects. Such a shame as the smell of freshly cut grass is just delicious,

Hope you feel better soon Dooley and can get a good nights sleep.

I was wondering how you made out today Dooley. I hope you get it under control quickly and feel better. As a matter of fact, I'm sending lots of allergy control wishes to all Stewbies.

    yeah allergies suck...

usually i only get bothered at the beginning of the spring season and then it passes. I mostly get a scratchy throat and a stuffed up feeling.

Luckily its passed, i hope yours does too..
