i spent a rather glorious seven hours on the allotment today, weeding and sowing and planting and watering. Anyhow, thought I would take a few shots.
Wow-wee! You are easily two weeks further than we are here with your veg. Your Digitalis has caught up with mine now. The Calendula's are looking spiffy. You have the first tom fruit...and I have the first tom flower. hahaha. Our strawbs are blushing now, so I guess we may be a leedle bit further along than you. However I see that your strawb is not in the ground, so that may well be the diff. All in all--a great posting. Your stuff is looking good. Chapeau.
My foxgloves don't even have buds yet let alone flowers. Your strawberries are forming - mine are flowering but it'll be a while yet before they form fruits. Everything seems to be ahead of me too and are looking great. So glad you enjoyed your time at the lottie today.
Sjoerd, there is a real mix on our allotment site, some people have already dug their first early spuds and broadbeans, others are only just planting their potatoes. Our strawberries are in the ground, but planted through membrane to try and stop the rampaging mares tail from smothering them. Again, some people are picking already, others are just forming. I am pleased with the allotments progress this year, we have put a lot of hours in. Netty and Eileen, we have had such a mild, damp winter, some things haven't stopped growing, daffodils came into flower in December, and have only just finished flowering! My cherry tree blossomed a month ago, where as the apple tree is in flower now. It's been a funny old spring.
Great variety EJ,..made me want to have a snack,..Lettuce and Spring Onions,..alas not home grown,..your way ahead of us here as well,..you certainly are enjoying your time in the garden
