Well I got all of the summer stuff put away for the winter. Drained the garden hose and put it and the reel away. Put the table and chairs from the deck away and also the yard swing. Clened out the wood box and brought it in, and filled the fire starter bucket and brought it up on the porch. I put charcoal on a lidded bucket and soak it in kerosene. When I get ready to start a fire, I stack the wood put one briquet under it and light it with a match. Preto I have a fire going without any cussing or anything! Syill have to fill the woodbox yet!

Sounds as though you've got everything well in hand CK!!! Just be careful if you're going to be using a chainsaw as poor Al has had a dreadful accident with one and we don't want two invalids on the forums. :(

It's too bad we are not all neighbors as we could share our wood with Al. Or help him haul what he has cut. It sounds like he needs all the help he can get. Dooley

I hadn't heard what happened to Al. But I did see a guy almost amputate his own leg, years ago, so I am especially careful with a chain saw. If it will cut through a tree with such ease, I can imagine what it will do with flesh and bone. When I taught survival school for the Navy, we had to cut firewood for the students. And we used chain saws. They had us go through safety training on the twice a year and I guess that stayed with me. I have never even had a close call and I have been using a chain saw for about 30 years. But you can never let down your guard with one because they are very unforgiving!
