    Hi everyone!
I found this forum when I did a search for how to deal with an overgrown garden. I read many posts to the question and you all seemed so nice and friendly I decided to join in.
Next Sunday the 17th I will be moving to my house in Southfield Michigan. I am sure when I go to the deli for the first time and ask for CAWFEE they will know I am not a native.
With that said -- I know the front yard was taken care of but I will need to keep up with it. However - once I get there I will take photo's of the garden and hopefully figure out how to post them here and you wonderful people can help me guide me to fixing it up and having some kind of a nice fall garden with whatever is there????
Oh yes, My name is Cathy - and I am glad I found this forum. I love sunflowers - so I hope next season I can get some to grow for me -
    All the best

Thank you for welcoming me. I am still packing up my place and am at the end but in a panic over everything. Coming here and reading has helped me think of more then just moving - and how cool it will be to finally have a home of my own and a garden to take care. I have seen a couple of pictures of the overgrown garden LOL so I am glad you all like to help... My mom is coming to live with me but won't be there until November sometime - and from what I have skimmed over it is good to get the weeds out while I still can - so my second stop (the first one will be coffee) will be the garden place to get a tool or two so I can get to weeding. I have to be very careful of what I am spending!!!!!! I started to post some pics to My Garden but they are too big and I will have to sit and resize them -- I have a little plot outside the backyard in the studio apt I live in. I will need to do that when I can concentrate more but will try to get some other photos up asap.

    Hello Cathy and welcome.

A greeting from SW. Michigan (near Grand Rapids).

Things are a bit different here than in Texas.

I think you are Z6, you can still grow a lot of good stuff.

    Blessings,

    Ron

    Hi Ron --

I am going to be moving to Southeast Michigan -- I can't wait to learn about all the flowers I will be able to plant next spring and maybe some this fall. I am also excited about putting out my bird feeders there on the back tree and see what the difference is from Long Island NY to Michigan.

Texas must be way hotter then MI!!!

    Cathy

I am not sure where to post this although I have been around. Now that you all know I am moving from NY to MI and the movers are coming this Thursday - then my Very best friend is going to drive with me and my PETS -- 2 Greyhounds, 3 cats and 2 parrots!!!! It should be a fun journey. We are leaving this Sunday and hope to be in MI by Monday but would love to be able to do the drive straight through since we both drive. I am excited... My mom will be coming to live with me sometime this Autumn! This is a joint effort between the two of us and we are both sure happy we are gonna be together again it has been way too many years. Of course I know there are days we are both gonna say WHAT DID WE DO??? LOL

Thank you so much for all the hi's and welcomes. I was looking at how to resize photo's today and when I get more time I promise to do that.

    G'night
    Cathy :stew2:
