    Aloha from the "Garden Isle"

    I have had so much fun reading your forums this morning. Originally seeking information on bugs that I found on the stems of my heirloom tomatos. They looked like small round fleas with shiny exteriors and were very active (100 or so mostly on the tips of the hairs of the main stems). However, when I went to take a picture of them two hours later they had all disappeared. We did have some heavy rains early this morning, perhaps they where harmless bugs trying to stay dry. If they show again I'll snap them quick.

    This is my first time growing heirlooms (3 varieties) and I am keeping a real close eye on them. No doubt I'll be on-line several times between now and harvest. Look forward to your input.

    P.S. Planting telephone poles means: Planting Honduran Mahoganies which grow straight as telephone poles here, we planted a small grove of 150.

    Aloha Connie;
    Welcome from coastal North Carolina! Love your picture, planting Mahogany trees! That's a lot of work. I know you'll enjoy the "stew" and we are sure curious to see what you grow in Hawaii beside telephone poles. Glad to have you.
