I like the flowers. And the fact that it is easy to grow. And the fact that it spreads. I don't like that after 5 yrs. in the ground it just doesn't have a lot of flowers. Any body grow this and have lots of blooms?

Hi Blissful Photons, yes I grow it here on the otherside of the world, but mine is a variegated one, I also love the flowers, but it is quite a tight plant about 3ft high in some areas. It does spread but not unmanageable.I would put up with that and not see it as a problem because I enjoy the flowers. Also called peruvian lillies here.
Mine are in light shade and flower well, maybe yours could do with more sun to get more flowers.

I like alstro because it lasts soooooo long as a cut flower. I don't think I could grow it in this cold climate but I buy a bunch from the market once or twice a month to keep on my desk :p

    Very nice blooms!

I have always wanted some Alstroemeria... but plants are soo expensive around here.
And seeds... not sure it's the way to go.
