Do you ever get overwhelmed going plant shopping? With a fair sized nursery in town I try to stay away from it and pick up a plant here and there at a big box or grocery store. Today was our wedding anniversary so hubby sent me in search of something special for the garden, and a couple of rain barrels. Rain barrel shopping was the easy part.

Right by the front entrance and someone to write a ticket to take inside. But way too many perennials inside...way too many. Several acres of plants.

Well, you get the idea, there is a lot of plants. I was to get a couple of plants and it was just too hard to choose...some how I managed. lol These were perfect and I knew just where to put them.

Now I have never had a Heuchera, but it likes shade and my garden is all about shade. How could I pass up such an unusual color? I got it home and it doesn't fit into any bed. Worst of all I was so enamoured I got two. The color goes with nothing. Had a large empty planter and yes! Looks pretty good there.

Feeling pretty good about the shopping spree now! Guess I will eventually have to create a special bed for the Heuchera. They come in a lot of different leaf colors. Soon there may be no grass left.

Hi Jewell, The nursery looks very nice. It is a little overwhelming when you're not sure what you want. So many choices!
I go to a wholesale nursery to pick up trees, shrubs and perennials for my landscaping job. That place is huge, and if I have a bit of spare time, I hike around to see what's new and unusual. It gives me inspiration.
You will love your rain barrel! I do love mine, but it sits empty right now awaiting much needed rain!
I am a bit obsessed with Heucheras, and have ummm, I can't count all of em. :D I love all the different colors and leaf shapes.
Great choices and additions to your garden! :stew1:

Kay it is good to hear you are successful and like your Heucheras'. I am scoping out the yard trying to decide where to add a space for themI always worry whether new plants are going to grow for me or not.

Stratsmom, i think you'd love this nusery. It's got the best selection of plants in this area. They just keep growing, getting bigger and bigger.

Belated happy anniversary and congratulations on your new plants. :stew2: I like Heuchera, but try to keep my hands off them. We've hardly got any grass left and I know I'm going to sacrifice a small piece of what's left this year. I need to move some plants to make room for some other plants, among them a couple of Heuchera. :D

Droopy, you are the lucky one. Running out of space, and none left for grass?
    WOW!
