I have lots that color and usually in big 5 gal buckets .That is my favorite plant of all.I had a red, yellow, solid pink and a beautiful white. All I have left is the ones like your hubby's.
always wanted one. Is it pretty hard to keep an Amaryllis? I have always wanted to have one so it blooms during the drabbest time of year.
Hi Saladbowl. I've never found amaryllis hard to grow and if you plant them in late summer/early autumn they should flower for you during winter. :-D
Polly, that is really pretty. When I lived in south Florida Amaryllis bloomed all year round.....but then down there you can poke a wooden toothpick in a pot of soil and it will grow.
I haven't found then hard to grow at all Saladbowl. They are just beauties in bloom.I left mine under soil this winter.Hope they are ok.
Lovely Polly. My bulbs that were doing so well were eaten by slugs and snails during the autumn so it looks like I will be snapping some up in the sales.
Mine blooms every spring. They have to be covered are removed from the soil for them to go dormant they need the rest.In the fall stop watering and or cover so they want get water or food.
