well this morning is so much colder then yesterday. I managed to sleep until 3:45. I went out to start the car and it struggled a bit to turn over. It is -24 F this morning. Very very frigid with some wind. Everyone stay warm today!

Do you guys have motor block heaters and battery warmers up there? I had to use these when I lived in Alaska...otherwise starting the truck in the morning was outta the question. I left it plugged-in over night.

That IS cold gardenmama! I sure hope you had your block heater plugged in...starting a car that cold isn't good!
I made DH clear a spot for me in his shop so I could park inside.

it was -31f/-35c here when I came to work this morning. And no, my car did not start. We used to have block heaters in cars. But we don't have them anymore. I'm sure you can buy an after market one around here. But my first car was the only one that ever had one and that was a 1968 chevy that I had in the late 70's.

Some people do, I don't. The buses got going today but some didn't go for long. Even though they were running all night the diesel fuel starting jelling up and they stopped going into their runs. My bus kept going but never got warm. My feet are still cold. The temp where my kids go to school was -26. Some isolated parts around here was -32. The one positive thing is that there wasn't any wind. Could have been so much worse. tractor trailor trucks were stuck all over today with jelling fuel lines and frozen air brake lines. One more night of this and it is supposed to start warming up above 0.

That sounds very dangerous with all those trucks freezing up and stalling out.Heather puts some kind of heat in her fuel so it doesn't freeze up.

Yuck! We've got temps like that further inland, but we never ever have them here by the coast. I hope it warms up a bit for you, gardenmama.
