    Saw this heron with its latest catch today. So I took a before and after picture.

    It looked as though that meal went down smoothly. I've seen herons eating frogs, fish and small mammals but never managed to get before and after shots.

    That was a catfish!! Must have been delicious.

    I see them along the river all the time. I have never seen them doing that before. So cool how they get things down.

    Thank you for the messages. I go down to the sea 3 or 4 times a week. Its not far, I have walked down. Many years ago they put a road across a bay with a bridge at one end. That end is open to the sea and where the tides come in, that is what we call the lagoon. Great for birds,especially in the winter.

    Great shot. That sounds like a place I would love to go and sit and photograph the wildlife also. :stew1:
