I planted a few Ballerina Tutu Angel Trumpet seeds in little peat pellets. Wouldn't you know I got a group of pellets mixed together? Most of the plants are types I've planted before so I am pretty sure I've got them sorted. Has anyone grown these from seeds before?

Hey Hummingbird, I have not grown those before. I can sure relate with the getting things mixed up though LOL. I planted some seeds in pots sure I'd remember what they are and I don't. LOL
    :-D

Thanks Jo! You'd think I'd learn, but what happens is I have to move them and then I lose my system. The zinnias and cosmos are easy...but this one was kind of different.

I don't think I know what the ballerina tutu angel trumpet is? do you have pics? It sounds really cool!
I think that is true of all of us about learning, maybe we will one day.

Never mind I just found pics online, kewel! We went to Hot Springs arkansas last week and to the woodland garden there and they had a yellow trumpet and it was wow! I hope to get one someday. :D

Yep, Anna, I'd say there's a very good chance that your little seedling
could very well be a Datura. :-D
I could be wrong, but it does have the right look about it at this stage.

I believe that the "Ballerina Tutu" series are Datura metaloides,
    rather than Brugmansia.

    Thanks Jo and Zuzu! :-D

Yes! It did say Datura on the package.

Zuzu, do you happen to know how quickly these tend to grow?

My package of seeds only had about 15...I planted 8 and traded 5 and lost two...so I'd be thrilled to have at least one survivor! :D

I hope the one that's growing is the purple edged one!

I haven't grown this specific mix, but assuming it is much the same as other Datura,
the plant will grow pretty fast once the seedling is established,
and it should start to bloom in mid-summer.

[IMG] I water mine a couple of times a week and fertilize lightly
    every other week or so.

Wow those are something. Are they hard to control? I've always heard that you can't get rid of an angel trumpet.

Yup, sure looks like a Datura seedling to me too. They do grow quite quickly once established, but not hard to control.

Oh, I am pleased! The seeds looked a lot like Bell Pepper seeds and the plant kind of has that look too, but I'm not planting any so it couldn't have been that.

Thanks for the input! I am afraid I am going to have a few other groups of mixed up seedlings...at least most are pretty different looking!
