My brother's wife just retired from working at a school district (administrative... not a teacher). So Hubby has been working on a birdhouse for her. All it needs now is the floor and for my brother to set a pole and mount it.
    So... here's a Schoolhouse/Birdhouse.

And since it is so large... he made it a "duplex".
    Here's the backside.

And again... since it's so large, he did put some perches inside to make it easier on the birds to get out.

That is wonderful, hope the birds who move in will be good neighbors and friends.
Has he made any birdhouses to sell, he might be able to put them on consignment in of the booths at an 'antique mall'

The birds that use the birdhouse will have really smart children.

Toni... if he charged by the hour, that one alone would cost thousands! :D He started it last summer and has just been messing around with it when there's nothing else to do. Honestly... it drives me nuts! I can't stand to have a project go unfinished.. and he just piddles around for months. AARRGGHH! :stew2:
He did make another one that only took a couple of days... I looked and couldn't find the photos. I must have saved them on my work computer. I'll try to remember to see if I can find them.

And Jerry... you know what they say... "you can send a bird to school, but you can't make 'em learn".
Okay... so I kinda made that up. ;)

Oh, what a luxury bird house! I think it's well worth the wait. My hubby's just the same, potters about forever. I'm not bothered by it though. If he's happy I'm happy. :D
